Zhang Fa, born in Chongqing city in 1954, a professor in aesthetics at the School of Philosophy in Renmin University of China, a visiting scholar at Harvard University, USA, during 1996~97 and a visiting scholar at University of Toronto, Canada, a winner of award of He YinDong fundation in 1994 and a Changjiang Scholar in 2005, and one of executing directors of the Society of Aesthetics of China, published thirteen books and more than 100 Articles among them there are three in English and six in Korean and his representative books are: The Elements of Aesthetics (1999), A history of Chinese Aesthetics (2000), A History of Western Aesthetics in 20th Century (2003), Chinese and Western Aesthetics and Their Cultural Spirits (1994 in mainland, 1998 in Taiwan and 1999 in South Korea), Chinese Art: history and Spirit (2003), The Art Theory toward the Globolization times (2005), Buddhist Art (2004) among others.
