Ma was born in Shanxi province in 1954. In 1978 admitted into Philosophy Department of Nankai University, graduated in 1982, and got philosophy bachelor degree. At the same year , he was admitted into Renmin University to go on study, and followed the teachings of Lixiulin professor. In 1985 he got philosophy master degree. After graduated , he has worked in Renmin University and engaged in Marxism philosophy teaching and research. In 1986 he was appointed as lecturer .From 1988 to 1992, he became PHD student and got PHD degree in Renmin University . In 1992 he was appointed as assistant professor. In 2000 he was appointed as professor. Now he is the professor of philosophy department in Renmin University, the tutor of PHD students, the member of the academic committee.

Main research field : value theory and the theory of social development .

Academic achievements : more than 100 articles has been published on the People Daily、Guangming Daily、Beijing Daily、Philosophy Research、Teaching and Research、Academic Journal of Renmin University . And many articles have been transshipped by Xinhua Digest、copy data of Renmin University Philosophy Principles.

The published writings : Theory of appraisal activity、Persons and Ego、Value theory、Research of Marxism philosophy. The writings translated by himself :Value philosophy、Value judgment、Democracy and Market、Berlin.

Obtaining prizes : the article Theory of appraisal activity, has been awarded third prize of excellent writings by the Education Department. Another article  strengthen theory research, improve the ability of rule of C.P.C, has been awarded the excellent-article prize by the Propaganda Department of Beijing Civil Committee of C.P.C.

The present undertaken projects : he has undertaken the projectSocial Fair and System Innovation,which is supported by the National Social Science Fund. And the project the Social trust and the development of socialism supported by the Education Department Fund, the projectthe Data bank of Talent Policy International comparison supported by the Science and Technology Department.

Plurality : deputy secretary-general of dialectical materialism research institute, deputy secretary-general of Beijing philosophy research institute, vice-chairman of Beijing high-school philosophy institute , researcher and deputy dean of Beijing Normal University value and culture research centre.
