Professor XIANG Shiling,Male,was born in Nanchong, Sichuan of China, on January 31, 1955. He received his Ph. D degree from Renmin University of China in 1993. He has been a professor of philosophy at the department of Philosophy, Renmin University of China since 2001. His academic specialties include the history of Chinese philosophy especially the Confucianism and the relationships among Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism. His main books include: History of Learning in the Wei, Jin, Northern and Southern Dynasties of China (2004); Changes-----the Quintessence series of Chinese Philosophical Categories (2000); The prize-winning Beyond the Good and the Evil------Hu Hong· School of Nature· Neo-Confucianism (2000) ; Annotations on “Qiushu” (1994); On “Heaven” in Confucianism (1991, S. XIANG and Y. FENG). Co-author:The prize-winningStudy of Chinese Ancient Philosophy (1998);Heaven------the Quintessence series of Chinese Philosophical Categories (1996).Editor in chief and Co-author: Chinese Philosophy Writing to the Public (2004);. The Story of Wisdom ( 2002); The Wisdom of Chinese Philosophy ( 2000). At the same time, he published numerous excellent papers of which many were reprinted and quoted by other publications. XIANG’s new book reinterpreting the History of Neo-Confucianism of the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, Among the Li, Qi, Xing and Xin------the Distinctions of the Schools of Neo-Confucianism and the Four schools, will be published in this year.
